In our classroom, students are using the materials to write about their life experiences, reflect on their growth, and creatively express themselves through art and design. One powerful moment was watching students share the stories behind their pages—some filled with pride about accomplishments, others reflecting on challenges they've overcome. It created a space where students felt seen, heard, and connected to one another.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. Many of them smiled, began planning their pages right away, and expressed gratitude for having the opportunity to create something so personal. For some, this was the first time they were given the chance to tell their story in a creative and meaningful way, and they truly embraced it.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue developing their memory books by revising their writing, adding thoughtful details, and finalizing their designs. Our next steps include peer sharing and reflection, where students will present parts of their books and celebrate each other's journeys. This project will end with a completed memory book that students can keep as a lasting reminder of their resilience, growth, and high school experience.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create not just a project, but a meaningful experience that supports both creativity and social-emotional growth. The filament you provided was used to create nearly all of the non-metal parts on our FRC robot, giving students the ability to design, print, test, and improve real components that were used in competition. Unlike technology many people use at home, this allowed students to engage in true engineering—building functional systems, troubleshooting issues, and refining their ideas through multiple iterations. Because they could quickly redesign and reprint parts, they were able to problem-solve in real time and better understand how design choices affect performance.\r\n\r\nStudents were especially excited to see their ideas go from a screen to a working robot on the competition field. Over the course of the season, they designed and rebuilt key mechanisms like the turret, flywheel, indexer, and intake multiple times, each version improving on the last. That process of iteration became one of the most valuable learning experiences—they weren't just completing an assignment, they were solving real problems with real consequences. Their hard work paid off when we competed at the Arizona North Regional and the Las Vegas Regional, where we placed 11th out of 55 teams and 10th out of 45 teams.\r\n\r\nWhat stood out most was how this experience reached students who don't always see themselves as engineers. Some who were initially hesitant became deeply involved once they could physically create and test their ideas. Being able to hold something they designed—and then watch it perform in competition—built a level of confidence that's hard to replicate in a traditional classroom. This grant didn't just provide materials; it gave students ownership of their learning and showed them what they're capable of when they're given the tools to create.","fullyFundedDate":1768673869660,"projectUrl":"project/lets-build-nevada/9994481/","projectTitle":"Let's Build Nevada","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Agan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp631538_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1492047323447","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-agan"},{"teacherId":8156150,"projectId":10024395,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the Amazon Kindle and Bose portable speaker and ear buds.
