Because I am able to run multiple operating systems through Parallels, we can use both Mac and Windows-based programs that are required for industry-standard tools and graphic design.\r\n\r\nOne of the most immediate impacts is that several key pieces of equipment are now fully operational again. Prior to receiving this computer, systems like our Torchmate CNC plasma table were limited or unusable due to processing and security requirements. Now, students can design a part, convert it into a toolpath, and physically cut it out on the machine—seeing the full engineering process from concept to finished product. That connection between digital design and real-world fabrication is where the learning really happens, and it has significantly increased student engagement.\r\n\r\nStudents are especially excited by the speed and capability of the system.
