Part of the AP Calculus exam is Graphing Calculator REQUIRED. Most of my students don't have the financial resources to buy their own graphing calculators, and although I have some available for check-out in my classroom, I never have enough to lend to all of my students who need to borrow one for the year. My goal is to order 4 or 5 more each semester so that within the next few years, I have enough for all of my students! The nice part about graphing calculators is that they don't expire or outgrow their usefulness as time goes on. I don't expect to have to replace these at all over the course of my teaching career! We use these calculators daily, and I find a direct correlation between students who have consistent access to a graphing calculator and how well they do on the Calculator portion of the exam.
