The new texts you provided have allowed us to build real reading stamina, practice citing evidence, and dive deeper into theme, character development, and point of view. Instead of isolated passages, students are working with full, rich stories where they can track how characters change, analyze motivations, and support their thinking with text evidence. These are the kinds of literacy skills that build confident, lifelong readers.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active and joyful. You might see students huddled in small groups debating a character's choices, tracking themes on sticky notes, or excitedly turning pages during independent reading time. We pause for discussions, connections, and \"aha\" moments. Some days feel like a book club, others like a mini literature workshop — but always centered around student voice. Your support made it possible for every child to hold a real book in their hands, and that has transformed the energy in our room.\r\n\r\nWhat has meant the most is watching reluctant readers fall in love with stories. I have students who previously avoided reading now asking, \"Can I keep this book a little longer?\" One student proudly told me this was the first book they've ever finished on their own. Another now rushes in each morning to tell me what happened in the chapter they read the night before. These moments are everything. You didn't just donate books — you gave my students confidence, connection, and a reason to see themselves as readers.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart and on behalf of my students, thank you for believing in our classroom and making this reading journey possible.","fullyFundedDate":1768164524144,"projectUrl":"project/percy-jackson-the-olympians-of-learni/9994792/","projectTitle":"Percy Jackson & the Olympians… of Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lowery","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7605511_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y185&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1719367950049","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7605511"},{"teacherId":6709690,"projectId":9993662,"letterContent":"THANK YOU so much for helping us on our quest to gather \"Percy Jackson\" novels for students, supplying materials for our extension projects, and providing beautiful poster boards for presentations! Many of our donors use technology every day, but in the classroom, access to high-interest books is just as powerful as any digital tool. These books have helped spark a genuine love of reading in students who may not have seen themselves as readers before.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has simply been having their own copies of the Percy Jackson series to read. They light up when we talk about the characters, make predictions, and connect the myths to what we're learning in class. Instead of reading feeling like an assignment, it feels like an adventure they get to be part of.\r\n\r\nI've seen particularly strong growth among students who previously struggled to stay engaged during independent reading time. Some who rarely finished books are now asking, \"Can we read one more chapter?\" They're discussing plot twists with their classmates, recommending the books to friends, and even exploring mythology beyond our classroom lessons. That excitement and ownership over reading has been the best part of all.","fullyFundedDate":1768531675807,"projectUrl":"project/ms-parkers-ela-classroom/10018461/","projectTitle":"Ms. Parker's ELA Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Parker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10399095_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767900923730","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10399095"},{"teacherId":3552135,"projectId":10020667,"letterContent":"On behalf of my entire class, I want to sincerely thank you for your generous donation of school supplies and educational posters.\r\n\r\nThe posters have already brightened up our learning environment, making complex concepts much easier for the students to visualize. They create classroom tools such as rulers, protractors, manipulatives, and geometry templates to support learning across subjects.\r\n\r\nStudents also design logos and branded products, engraving school or student-designed logos onto reusable items like pencil cases, bookmarks, and badges. Some students are creating assistive and community-focused items, including signage, labels, and parts for larger projects such as doggy wheelchairs and adaptive devices. Others are prototyping entrepreneurial products—coasters, phone stands, organizers, and eco-friendly packaging—while calculating cost, material use, and pricing.\r\n\r\nBy turning discarded plastic into usable materials and transforming them into laser-cut and engraved products, students see sustainability, engineering, and creativity come together.
