These novels will promote the Nevada Academic Content Standards for sixth grade English Language Arts. Specifically the reading standards for literature and the language standards. My students will be able to read these novels together in class and participate in rich classroom discussions. While they were at home during COVID-19 distance learning they often had to read on their own. Now that we are in the classroom full time, my students will be able to read these novels as a class and discuss the events and characters together. These novels will also help promote language as they are exposed to a variety of authors.
