I am a special education teacher that teaches resource math, study skills, and social skills classes. My students are mostly made up of 7th and 8th graders. My classroom is an environment where students can feel comfortable not only learning but being themselves. I make sure I have time to get to know the students as I've found those students are willing to give that much more effort for me. They come from all kinds of backgrounds. My students are ethnically, racially, socially, and spiritually diverse, and it's a combination of all of their personalities that truly makes my classroom a great place to be every day. I treat my students like they are my kids and make sure that they know they are special and can do anything. My students love learning in different ways (standing desks, bean bags, wobble stools, short tables) and are thankful for past donations that have given them those adaptive seating arrangements.
