These novels will promote the English Language Arts Nevada Academic Content Standards for eighth grade. Specifically the literature, writing, and language standards. My students are eager learners and love to talk about historical events. My students weren't able to participate in classroom novel discussions in person for 18 months of COVID-19 Distance Learning. Having these novels in our classroom will provide us with the opportunity to read as a class, write about the historical events, and contribute to whole class discussions. These novel discussions will be supplemented by the history teachers and their classroom teachings.
