Having pants available in the classroom is always a lifesaver. One day a student came in after a snowstorm in just a pair of snowpants, no pants underneath, and our classroom is HOT! I was able to grab a pair of sweatpants and he went and changed into the sweatpants to be more comfortable for the day. Another student didn't make it to the bathroom in time and they were able quickly wash up with wipes and change into new underwear and pants. One student came in wearing tights under a skirt but they were too small and uncomfortable. I was able to give her a pair of leggings to change into to make the school day focused on learning and not being uncomfortable in too small tights.\r\n\r\nHaving the clothing in the classroom and readily available is such a time saver, embarrassment saver and comfort for students and helps each and every day run more smoothly. \r\n\r\nAs this school year is almost over, this donation was able to fill the bin to get ready for the start of a brand new school year with 100 new kindergarten students. We used all the decorations and accessories to decorate the gym and lobby for our celebration. All the families arrived for the 9:15 performance and were greeted with a lei to wear. The families filled the bleachers for the show to begin. Students filled the gym, dressed in hula skirts and leis and greeted families, recited a poem, sang two songs and even did a hula dance. After the performance each kindergartner got their certificate and goodie bag filled with bubbles, a beach ball, sunglasses, books and candy! They took pictures with their familes at the various decorative backgrounds. What a fun cumulation to the school year! We have a few days left- today was Hh day- HATS and Bb day for the bubbles is coming up quickly!
