My sixth graders are very into reading! They love finding a great book among the dusty old novels that have been left behind from years ago! However, it is hard to find those great books among the shortage of books I have in my classroom as a second year teacher. I have spent a lot of my own money on some books, but with the number of students this year I have not nearly enough to supply them the way I would love to! This generation of children needs access to great novels more so then ever with the temptations of technology everywhere they go. Reading is fun, and they are learning that with some of the new novels I have purchased, and they are hungry for more! I am already seeing a change in their fluency and spelling due to stamina reading we do everyday, and I can't wait to have more material for them to devour themselves in and build their knowledge!! It's only two months into school and we are shredding through our book shelf! Please help fill it up with more exciting works!
