We use these materials to practice emotional awareness, build kindness and empathy, develop problem solving skills, and explore strategies for navigating big feelings in healthy ways.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful parts of my teaching is watching students connect classroom resources to their own lives. Whether they are reflecting on a challenging moment in our Think Space, practicing affirmations during our closing ritual, or working together to explore kindness, these tools give students opportunities to build confidence, develop independence, and learn that their feelings matter. The resources also bring fresh energy to familiar routines and create more opportunities for student voice and choice.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue weaving these tools into our daily yoga and SEL lessons so students can practice using them independently and carry these skills beyond our classroom. My hope is that every student leaves with a growing toolkit of strategies to help them feel grounded, navigate challenges, build meaningful relationships, and care for themselves and others. From refreshing our Think Space with problem-solving tools and reflective printables to bringing new life to our affirmation station, these materials give students more opportunities to practice independence, express themselves, and make thoughtful choices. One of our favorite activities has been the Crumpled Heart lesson, which helped students explore how our words and actions affect others. It was a meaningful way to revisit kindness and empathy and remind students that even when we apologize, our words can leave an impact.\r\n\r\nThese resources are becoming part of our everyday classroom routines. Students are learning to recognize their feelings, work through challenges, and access strategies that help them feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Through stories, students explore empathy, kindness, responsibility, and respect for all living beings. These books also spark curiosity, encourage students to ask questions, build literacy skills, and help us connect our lessons to the world around us.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is interactive and full of student voice. We pause to make predictions, share observations, connect stories to our own experiences, and reflect on how we can put the lessons into practice. The package arrived filled with a variety of organizational and learning tools, and my students were thrilled to open everything.\r\nThese resources continue to positively impact the way we learn math. We are already putting the chart paper to use for building our many math anchor charts, providing students with valuable references to use throughout each unit. The cardstock and lamination sheets are letting me create durable math station materials that we can reuse all year. The time saved from not having to re-create each set of lesson materials is a real gift!\r\nOur daily math routines are much smoother now. Students are using their individual whiteboards and dry-erase markers to show their active participation and solve equations in real time. They absolutely love using those whiteboards! \r\nFinally, the glue sticks and quality black markers have allowed us to set up dedicated math journals where students document their problem-solving steps. My hope is that these journals are so valuable to each of them that they take them with them as they move onto their new schools next year.\r\nYour gift did more than just supply our classroom with tools; it showed my students that a community of people stands behind them, cheering on their academic success. Money has been tight this year and the items that my students need are different than the pencils and notebooks of a typical classroom. Your impact is felt in so many ways everyday! \r\n\r\nStudents are always excited when we get boxes of fun stuff and they immediately started playing the piano and drums- since they are flat, students can have them across their trays, and even my students with physical disabilities are working to bring their arms and hands in to play music. Another access tool is the silicone strap that can wrap around a student's hand to help them hold classroom tools (markers, glue sticks, etc.) independently. Our students receive so much hand over/under hand support that getting to do something independently is very exciting. The timers are great for teaching the concept of time and helping students see when non-preferred activities end and new ones begin. This helps with transitions and behavior issues. My little train lover was very excited for his trains and wanted them open immediately. He has recently started playing with toys more and we are excited about his development!\r\n\r\nLast but not least are all the supplies that keep the classroom going. The printer ink that helps me print out daily notes to families and classroom newsletters, the batteries that make sure our toys are working, and the laminating sheets that ensure that the books I print out can last through rough exploration and an occasional lick. The cordless vacuum and disinfecting wipes allow us to quickly clean our classroom throughout the day, helping maintain a healthy and welcoming learning space for all students. A clean classroom is especially important for young learners who spend so much time on the floor, sharing materials, and learning in close community.\r\n\r\nThe calming and sensory supports also make a meaningful difference for students. The weighted Hug Balls provide comfort, regulation, and emotional support for children who may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or overstimulated during the school day. These tools help students build self-regulation skills so they can return to learning feeling more calm and confident.\r\n\r\nThe light therapy lamp and soft starburst lights help transform our calming corner into a peaceful, cozy space where students can reset their emotions, practice mindfulness, or take a quiet break when needed.
