The cart will provide students the opportunities to obtain functional life skills and social skills (e.g., following directions, manipulating objects, conversational skills, etc.). This will specifically target students IEP goals and provide meaningful connections between students and faculty/peers. Students are thrilled with the prospect of engaging with new communication partners! Students will run the coffee cart each week to address their speech and occupational therapy goals. All items will be created by the students and speech language pathologists and occupational therapist will provide necessary supervision and individualized supports for students to be successful. The money generated from the coffee sales will go towards the following weeks material order.
