Currently, many of my students do not have access to a computer at home. If I want to use computers in school, I have to reserve them and hope that another teacher hasn't booked them. There are only 72 Chromebooks for 300 students to share. I am asking for five Acer Chromebooks. This will start my class on the pathway to becoming a 1-1 classroom (one chromebook for each child). If each student had a Chromebook, students would be able to complete many assignments online, while saving a ton of paper. Third grade is when students take the MCAS, our state test, online for the first time. It is imperative that they practice reading, scrolling up and down the screen, answering questions online and typing.
