We often enjoy learning in close proximity with one another during whole-group instruction. Students may gather on the carpet, sit near the board. Having clipboards allows students to comfortably write, take notes, and respond to learning activities wherever our instruction takes us. This flexibility helps us make the most of our classroom space while also creating opportunities for students to learn in ways that feel comfortable and engaging.\r\n\r\nThe donated headsets are also used frequently and support several important areas of our instruction. With microphone headsets, students can record reading samples while I am able to work one-on-one with students who have greater needs for support. This allows me to gather valuable information about students' reading skills and progress without requiring every student to wait individually for a conference with me. Their recorded samples can be reviewed and used to better understand areas of strength as well as skills that may need additional instruction and practice.\r\n\r\nThe headsets are also especially beneficial for students receiving English Language instruction. They provide students with opportunities to listen closely, practice speaking, record their voices, and engage with language-learning activities in a way that supports their individual needs. Having access to quality headsets helps reduce distractions and gives students a greater sense of independence as they practice important listening and speaking skills.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I am always looking for ways to make learning more accessible, engaging, and responsive to the needs of every student. I believed that this hands-on, familiar material would provide comfort and help students feel more relaxed as they began their school day. Using Play-Doh during the first days of school worked extremely well. The students were engaged, which helped set a positive tone for the day. The activity encouraged creativity and allowed students to express themselves in a low-pressure way. Most importantly, it helped them remain calm and focused, making the transition into the classroom routine much smoother.\r\n\r\nIn addition, students used the Play-Doh to practice forming their names, turning an important early literacy skill into a fun and interactive experience.
