Students who have experienced trauma are often left without a safe place to relax, calm down, and reflect. My classroom offers shelter in the time of a storm to my students. The books on this list will help build self-esteem and teach students how to navigate a world that is sometimes overwhelming for them. Also included is a Ms. Pac Man machine. The students use this machine to calm themselves and create solutions in challenging situations. The already existing machine is broken, we are requesting a replacement machine.
