They are learning how to read more closely, ask thoughtful questions, and connect stories to their own lives and the world around them. These books also introduce rich vocabulary and diverse perspectives, helping students become stronger, more confident readers.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is active and engaging. You might see students reading independently with focus, working in small groups to discuss a chapter, or sharing their thoughts during class discussions. We use journals, partner talks, and creative projects to help students reflect on what they read. Reading is no longer something they rush through—it has become something they truly think about and enjoy.\r\n\r\nSeveral students, in particular, have been especially inspired by these new books. Some who once struggled to stay interested are now eager to recommend stories to their classmates. One student who rarely volunteered to read aloud now asks to share favorite passages. Another who used to feel unsure about reading has gained confidence and proudly completes books on their own. These moments show how meaningful access to the right books can be.","fullyFundedDate":1768180233679,"projectUrl":"project/to-ban-or-not-to-ban/9997358/","projectTitle":"To Ban or Not to Ban","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Baker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9364933_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767916520461","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9364933"},{"teacherId":7528162,"projectId":10044312,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, my 160 seventh grade math students now have the basic classroom supplies they need to fully participate and thrive in our classroom. The colored pencils, markers, crayons, and pencils you provided have already made a meaningful difference in our daily learning.\r\n\r\nWe are using these materials every single day. Students are color-coding their notes to break down multi-step problems, highlighting key vocabulary, and creating visual models to represent integers, proportions, and geometric concepts. One of my favorite moments happened during a recent lesson on rational numbers. Students used colored pencils to graph and compare values on number lines. I watched as several students who normally hesitate to participate became more confident because they could clearly see and organize their thinking. The colors helped the math \"click.\"\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Many students expressed genuine gratitude, and some shared that they often don't have access to these materials at home. Seeing a full set of supplies available for everyone made them feel supported and valued. It removed a barrier and allowed them to focus entirely on learning.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these resources to build strong foundational skills. We are beginning a unit that requires students to create problem-solving journals and interactive foldables to explain their reasoning step by step. These tools will help them communicate their mathematical thinking clearly and confidently — an essential skill as they prepare for higher-level math.\r\n\r\nYour contribution was more than just supplies. It provided opportunity, equity, and encouragement. Thank you for investing in my students and believing in their potential. Your generosity is helping shape confident, capable mathematicians every day.","fullyFundedDate":1769000653783,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-strong-math-foundations-for-7/10044312/","projectTitle":"Supporting Strong Math Foundations for 7th Grade Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Baker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7528162"},{"teacherId":9348531,"projectId":9991647,"letterContent":"Thank you once again for supporting all classroom teachers, regular ed, special ed, specialists and others. We are using the new equipment daily to build skills in teamwork, coordination, and confidence. One of our first activities was a cooperative stations day, where students rotated through skill-based challenges, encouraging one another and celebrating progress together. The quality and variety of the materials made it possible for every student to be actively engaged at the same time.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new equipment, their excitement was immediate and contagious. They couldn't wait to try everything out and were eager to ask questions about how we would use each item. Several students who are usually hesitant in PE jumped right in, clearly feeling more motivated and included because the activities felt fresh, fun, and accessible to them.\r\n\r\nNext, we are using these resources to support a fitness and goal-setting unit where students track their personal growth and work collaboratively to improve their skills. Your support has opened the door for more meaningful lessons and positive experiences that will impact students long after this unit ends. Because of your kindness, we have been able to use the boxes regularly throughout the year, and they have made a meaningful difference in our daily routines. The students have learned how to stay organized, take responsibility for their materials, and work more independently—skills that extend far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nMost recently, the boxes played an important role in our latest project: creating ornaments for our class tree to decorate our Winter concert. Students used them to store supplies, organize their work, and take pride in caring for their projects from start to finish. Seeing their excitement and sense of ownership as they contributed to a shared goal was truly special.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create a more structured, engaging, and positive learning environment.
