The dream I have for my students is the ability to choose how they want to work. Having a functional classroom allows for students to work together in an environment that takes them away from the bland desks and chairs aspects. Students will be able to move around the classroom and stand up when they do their work. Standing allows for complete blood flow to their brain which keeps them more awake and allows them to comprehend more learning! My class is a business and marketing class, and allowing students to work in an environment that simulates a functional office space gives them a look into the real world working experience. The value of that is immeasurable to them. The hope is that each student will be able to achieve maximum learning as well as real life experience in a classroom that magnifies teamwork, leadership, and self confidence. This will lead my students to positively impact our society and the world once they graduate! The items I am looking for are standing desks, standing tables, and balance ball chairs for my students that have a difficult time with fidgeting. Since the tall tables and desks allow students to stand during class time, it will allow more blood flow to the brain, helping students to stay awake and listening through the entirety of class. The more listening, the more learning! This allows for more interactive-ness and group work that can lead to the flow of ideas and imagination!
