My students are a wonderful group of kids. There are 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Many of them come from a lower income home. Our school does not have the funds to provide their science classroom with all of the fun gadgets we need to be able to be hands on. They are all excited to learn and try new things! One of the first things I was asked was if they would be performing any experiments? I told them that we most definitely would be! Many of my students have individualized learning plans to assist them in class. I have received a Smartboard through grant money to help with those IEP student's learning. Many of them are more visual learners and they need to be able to interact with the Smartboard. Their school is wonderful and helps in any way that it can, but there simply is not the funding for all of the things that my students need in order to succeed and excel.
