These reading materials/reading center resources will support my students in their language and reading development. Having a variety of reading materials, as well as the listening center, will support each of my students in their current reading level and language skills. Struggling readers will have the benefit of listening and following along with the listening cds and books, and all levels of readers will have multiple reading materials to choose from - materials that are aligned to their current reading skills. Additionally, the mobile reading cart will allow me the opportunity to arrange my classroom library based on specific levels, and will support me in guiding students in which reading section they should be selecting books from. The specific standards that will be addressed with these materials are all 2nd grade reading standards: RL.2.1, RL.2.2, RL.2.3, RL.2.4, RL.2.5, RL.2.6, RL.2.7, RL.2.8, RL.2.9, RL.2.10, RI.2.1, RI.2.2, RI.2.3, RI.2.4, RI.2.5, RI.2.6, RI.2.7, RI.2.8, RI.2.9, RI.2.10, RF.2.3a,b,c,d,e,f, and RF.2.4a,b,c. I thank you for your consideration in supporting me as I work to support each of my students in their reading and language development.
