I had a few robotics kits already but I didn't have enough so that students could work in teams of two or three. Assigning a small group of students to each robot ensures they are all able to be actively involved in the process! My students are excited and extremely motivated to code the robot to perform missions on a game field that will earn them points. I have approximately 24 students that make up 9 teams. These teams are working hard to successfully complete as many missions as they can within the time frame allotted. They are looking forward to the competition between all teams to determine a winner. My students and I thank you all so much that we were able to get new supplies to help us expand our vocabulary and get our minds going. These new toys helped us learn to share during choice time and work on our turn taking skills. The alphabet mystery box was a huge hit in our classroom. My students play with it everyday. This has helped them with beginning letter recognition and has helped my non-verbal students with using their words more.\r\n\r\nWhen we received our first package, my students were so excited! We opened all the packages together and they loved it. Each item that was brought out they wanted to open it immediately. We sat together as a class and learned how to play with each toy and how to take care of them. These items have brought so much joy to our classroom and I can't thank you enough. This has been such a big help in my first year of teaching.\r\n\r\nThe next step for my classroom would be to continue helping my students grow. They were eager to engage and quickly connected these supports with positive behavior expectations. One meaningful moment stood out when a student who can become aggressive started to escalate, and we were able to quickly help him calm down using the ice.
