I am currently teaching first grade students in the state of Nevada. I have a class of 20 active students. They are a sweet bunch of kids that enjoy learning and trying new things. The students in my classroom come from a variety of backgrounds. There are some that are in a traditional family and some where the family situation is very nontraditional. Most of the students come from a family where both parents (if there are two) need to work outside of the home to make ends meet. My school is over 15 years old and thus established in the neighborhood with students living in a mix of both houses and apartments. It is a school where parents are involved in their child's education. As the students are pretty established, so are the teachers.
