Then they proceeded to open the vacuumed sealed cow eye. One of the first projects they completed was replanting their growing plants into larger flower pots, which fit perfectly on the new plant stand. This small change made a big difference—they were able to observe their plants' growth more clearly and apply what they've learned in our lessons about plant care. Students also enjoyed placing the Miracle-Gro sticks into the soil and tracking how the added nutrients affected plant development over time.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments came when our Venus flytrap arrived. Seeing this unique plant up close helped students make deeper connections to our lessons on carnivorous plants. They were fascinated watching how it captured insects and asked thoughtful questions that showed how engaged they were with the content. Additionally, students have been using the classroom microscope to observe microorganisms living within the soil of our plants. Viewing these tiny organisms firsthand has strengthened their understanding of ecosystems and the roles microorganisms play in plant health.\r\n\r\nThanks to these resources, our learning continues to grow. Students are now preparing to compare growth patterns between different plant species and document their findings in a science journal. This allows students to modify aluminum parts on their bot quickly and without the use of cutting tools. Each day when we have independent time, students rush to find a soft spot to spread out and get comfortable while they work.\r\n\r\nI know there are some people who wonder whether kids work as well when they are laying or reclining on the floor, as opposed to sitting straight up at a desk. My classroom experience tells me that students work best when they are able to move and sit in ways that work for them. Having flexible seating options during certain times of classwork allows for the autonomy older students need in order to figure out what is best for them.\r\n\r\nAs for my after-school club, these items have come in so handy.
