Cooking is a very important of part of my classroom. Each student has a cooking goal. Goals are suited for each student's personal needs. Some of the students are cooking small meals using the stove and oven, while others are working on cooking in the microwave. Learning to use a microwave gives my students self reliance and independence. Students first work on recipes or frozen meals that they enjoy eating. They then purchase their ingredients or food choice. Microwave cooking gives the students an opportunity to make easy, tasty meals at home or in the work place break room.
