The ducks have become a symbol of achievement and focus, making a noticeable impact on their engagement and self-regulation.\r\n\r\nAnother game changer has been the improvements to our lighting. The light cover over our fluorescent lights, along with the galaxy light, has made the room much more comfortable. It softens harsh lighting, which helps students focus better, especially during activities like reading or using the Amira program on their computers. The calm atmosphere supports students' sensory needs and provides a safe, inviting space for both independent and group work. The large digital clock with a built-in timer has also made a big difference in time management. Students now have a clear visual cue for transitions, and the warning flash helps them prepare for the next activity. This has reduced stress around schedule changes and increased their independence.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will continue using these resources as they work on collaborative reading, math stations, and science projects. I am also able to discern some of what the students are feeling by the stories they tell in the sand. \r\nI am so happy that this project was funded.
