1st grade is all about learning to read, and creating the desire to pick up a book and learn from it! My class this year has such a passion for learning and making deeper connections throughout our weekly themes. We are at the point of the year where reading is beginning to click, and they just can't get enough! My students continually ask if I have more books that correlate with our weekly themes, so they can learn even more! I have worked with my class to make this list of books they have a desire to read. We also found books we feel can deepen our understanding, and help us make connections to the real world around us. By donating to this project, you will help my current and future students get the opportunity to choose (age-appropriate) themed books for them to enjoy during independent reading time, as well as give them headphones to be able to listen and explore books available to them online. In addition to the books, I have asked for some simple classroom supplies that are used daily and can help to enhance student penmanship, math skills, and overall creativity.
