Because of you, I have been able to use instructional strategies and materials that have made a meaningful difference in student learning and engagement.\r\n\r\nI love using clipboards because they allow students to work collaboratively in groups while moving around the room or working on vertical whiteboards. Since using this strategy, student conversations have improved tremendously—academic vocabulary is stronger, discussions are richer, and much of the learning is coming from students explaining their thinking to one another rather than just listening to me.\r\n\r\nThe animal erasers have been a huge hit with students! I use them as prizes during academic competitions such as Jeopardy, Kahoot, and Trashketball, where students compete to solve problems. These small rewards go a long way in encouraging students to participate, take risks, and have fun while learning.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboard markers have also made a big difference. The markers provided by the school are very thick, which makes it difficult for students to write clearly or fit an entire problem on their individual whiteboards. Having thinner markers—and multiple colors—has helped tremendously. Students were genuinely excited to see classmates using blue or other colors instead of only black, and it has improved both organization and engagement.\r\n\r\nFinally, having my own copy paper and toner has been incredibly helpful. I print a lot of guided or fill-in notes—where some information is provided and students actively complete the rest—which supports student focus and understanding. Being able to consistently provide these materials has had a direct impact on student learning.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students and our classroom. Your generosity truly helps create an environment where students feel supported, motivated, and excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1762265334938,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-to-keep-learning-active-and-fun/9632746/","projectTitle":"Supplies to Keep Learning Active and Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Neff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1151927_orig.jpg?crop=104,104,x0,y9&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741302245555","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1151927"},{"teacherId":9478763,"projectId":9733479,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in funding our classroom project. Many of our students struggle with food insecurity and truly need the support of donors like you. Your continued generosity not only meets their basic needs but also provides hope, encouragement, and the motivation to keep working toward their goals. The impact of knowing someone cares, gives our students the confidence to persevere through challenges.\r\n\r\nI am deeply appreciative of every donation. Thanks to your kindness, I have been able to provide not only food but also vital mental health resources. The addition of comforting items, like weighted stuffed animals, has made a meaningful difference for my students, especially on difficult days. Students have expressed that they feel my office is a safe and nurturing place to turn. When their mental health is supported, students are better able to focus, participate in class, and attend school. \r\n\r\nWhen students feel safe, nourished, and cared for, their motivation improves because they know that school is a home away from home. The impact of your ongoing support is visible every day in the pure joy and happiness of our students. While they may not always show emotions outwardly, as you can see from the pictures, your generosity has given them the chance to truly be kids and to succeed. Students have had the opportunity to explore math as it is used in real life situations such as how to determine the number of bags of soil and volume needed to plant along with converting measurements while purchasing. \r\n\r\nThey were also able to use percentages and stats and graphs to explore growth and costs. Once students estimated in real life and then on paper as formulas, they said it would have been better to do the math first instead of estimating.
