We are entering a watershed moment in education where technology is front and center. After almost a year and a half of distance learning, students, teachers, and schools have become accustomed to leveraging technology in the classroom. Now that we are back to face-to-face instruction, it seems that technology in the classroom is here to stay. At my school, most teachers, including myself, require students to bring their laptops to school everyday. Gone are the days of handouts and paper copies! Or so I thought... While there is tremendous potential with completely paperless instruction, there are pronounced equity issues as well. Many of my students do not have access to a computer device, or do not have the ability to charge their devices at home overnight. A printer will help me make my digital lessons accessible to all my students, regardless of computer access, should they not have their device charged and ready to go in class.
