The scooters have become a favorite for high-energy play, while the croquet set has encouraged a surprising amount of focus, strategic thinking, and teamwork as they navigate the wickets together. We are currently using the THERUN Walking Pad as a primary tool for \"movement breaks.\" Last week, a student came in feeling completely overwhelmed by the crowded hallways. Instead of missing the rest of their morning classes, they spent 15 minutes on the walking pad while using the Sharper Image Heated Neck Wrap. This physical release allowed them to decompress, reset their heart rate, and return to class ready to focus.\r\nThe students were incredibly touched to see high-quality items like the COLAMY Ergonomic Office Chair and the Rotating Art Supply Organizer waiting for them. Their first reaction was one of pure relief; many mentioned that having a space designed specifically for their mental health made them feel like their well-being was a priority for the school and the state. The Advanced Coloring Books were an immediate hit, providing a quiet, creative outlet that students reached for right away.\r\nWith these tools now in place, our next step is to integrate them into our individual and small-group counseling sessions. We are working on a \"Self-Regulation Toolkit\" project where students identify which resource—be it the physical movement of the treadmill or the artistic focus of coloring—best helps them manage their specific triggers. While some students use the Pop Fidgets or Calm Strips at my desk to stay focused and get back to class, the biggest hit has been the Walking Pad. They were able to burn off that anxious energy and return to their desk ready to tackle the test.\r\nWhen the boxes first arrived, the excitement was palpable! My students were especially amused by the Pizza Slice Throw Pillows—they immediately made the \"refocus\" area feel less like a clinical space and more like a comfortable lounge. Because of your generosity, my students now have hands-on materials that are helping them truly experience science. We've already begun using the beads to build DNA models, and watching students physically construct double helices while identifying base pairs has been such a powerful learning moment. When they first saw the supplies, there were lots of excited reactions—especially when they realized they'd be creating real models and running experiments like true scientists. The petri dishes and seeds sparked immediate curiosity, with students eagerly asking what we would grow and how we would track changes over time.\r\n\r\nRight now, students are using these resources to explore genetics and plant biology. After modeling DNA, they transitioned into germination experiments, planting seeds and observing daily growth while recording data and making predictions. Next, we'll use the petri dishes to examine how environmental factors affect growth and to practice proper lab techniques. These activities are helping students connect abstract concepts to real-world science, building confidence and enthusiasm along the way.\r\n\r\nYour support has made learning more engaging, meaningful, and memorable for my students. It's a little thing, but it promotes fun and conversation rather than combative competition. \r\n The other picture I included is silly but probably much more meaningful. It's an empty box of pencils. Every year, I usually buy 5-6 boxes of pencils for the year for my class. Sometimes they last, sometimes they don't. The idea behind the pencils is that students shouldn't have to feel bad or embarrassed if they don't have basic supplies. There is always a jar of pencils on my front table. I tell them constantly: borrow one, take one; it's there for you to use. I don't want a student not to do the work just because of a pencil. I don't want to make a big deal of it and I want them to see that it's no big deal to come grab one. \r\n So thanks for making students feel comfortable in my room.
