The laptop that I am currently using for distance learning is very outdated. Recently the camera and volume has started to glitch, which has made Google Meets with staff (and even students) nearly impossible. It also lags and crashes when playing videos for the class or loading lesson plans and assignments into our LMS Canvas. Loading completed work through the Google LTI is nearly impossible, and rarely loads. It is very often that my laptop freezes and has to be rebooted in order to continue. I also see that when creating slide shows and presentations, my laptop is not able to handle the load, especially with multiple tabs open as needed for teaching. My laptop does not have the added technology to make my presentations truly engaging and eye-catching. The new laptop will enable me to give the most to my students in our new semi-virtual learning community.
