My students come from a variety of backgrounds. The school is located in a historically African-American neighborhood. Many of the students struggle with home life and come to school as a place of safety. The students are self motivated but require a bit of a jump-start to keep going in their studies. While many of the students come from rough backgrounds, the school has huge potential. The school is incredibly diverse and full of opportunities from both eager students and educators. Many of the students in my class have little support at home, they struggle to complete simple homework assignments, not because of lack of motivation but because they are required to take care of their own family members. Since the mention of the possibility of dissection in the classroom, they have non-stop worked hard and consistently ask about when it will take place. Many of the students don't experience joy in their lives because of the trials they experience at home, this would change that for them
