Students will be able to feel safe and have a place to unwind while at school. The use of calming items and fidget tools fit into the NV school counselor ASCA mindset standards M.1 and ASCA behavior standards B-SMS 10. Having a safe and comfortable place is critical to recovering mentally. Resiliency is within every student; they need a place to learn new coping techniques. The addition of comfortable seats, manipulation tools, organization and cleaning supplies will provide a calm place where recovery is possible.
