One special moment was watching a group of students work together to set up the volleyball net for the very first time. They organized teams on their own, cheered each other on, and even taught classmates who had never played before. It was a beautiful example of teamwork happening naturally during play.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw all the materials laid out, they were beyond excited. They ran toward the equipment with huge smiles, asking, \"Can we use this today?!\" The hula hoops and jump ropes were an instant hit, and the soccer balls and kickballs quickly became the go-to choice for students who love running and team games. Even students who usually wander during recess are now more active and engaged.\r\n\r\nAs for what's next, my students are excited to use this equipment to create new recess games and routines. They're starting to organize their own mini tournaments, take turns more responsibly, and include more classmates in their play. They use them daily for assignments, independent practice, small-group rotations, and all online assessments. Having reliable headphones has allowed my students to stay focused, block out distractions, and fully engage with the instructional platforms we use. Many of our donors use technology at home, but in the classroom it plays a very different and powerful role. These headphones allow students to access differentiated lessons, listen to read-alouds, watch instructional videos at their own pace, and complete testing with clarity and confidence.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is the sense of independence the headphones give them. They love being able to hear their digital lessons clearly without interruptions, and many of them have become more invested in their learning because the tools now match their needs. Programs like iReady, Reading Eggs, Amplify, and district assessments are so much easier for them to navigate with good, comfortable headphones.\r\n\r\nI've also seen certain students—especially those who struggle with focus or who receive additional learning support—really warm up to this technology. For some of my quieter students, the headphones give them a safe, distraction-free learning space. We have learned tornado facts and created home tornado safety brochures to teach our family how to stay safe. We have participated in a national plastic lid recycling contest and created an art piece to include in the competition. We used remaining plastic lids in the classroom to create our own monsters and create a story for the monsters. We have also helped beautify our school for our Veterans Day program. The items are used each day in a variety of ways.
