My students come into the library with growling tummies and really need your help! I serve over 250 students every day in grades one through third and many times are asked for something to eat especially in the afternoon when lunch has been used up by the day's work. This project is important because our students have a very long day and need something before they go home to little or no snacks at all. We have many children raised by grandparents & single-parent homes who are already financially strapped. Our children are also from foster homes and a few are even homeless. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch but many of our families are still financially unable to afford snacks especially healthy snacks to nourish their growing bodies. The Goldfish and fruit snacks would allow my students to have energy to focus on school work instead of being worried of hunger or food. Your donation of healthy snacks will ensure that they are at their best and will help boost their scores in reading, math, and all other core subjects. I have bought snacks from my own pocket but truly need help because of the overwhelming need that my students have shown. This healthy snack they receive will make a HUGE difference in their life and a great IMPACT in their learning!
