I have the entire school that rotates through my classroom each week. Some classes visit STEAM twice a week. There are multiple items that each student uses each day while in the classroom. \r\n Each week we have a different project that we work to complete. So far this year we have learned about how to stay safe and prevent a fire and created fire safety brochures. We have learned tornado facts and created home tornado safety brochures to teach our family how to stay safe. We have participated in a national plastic lid recycling contest and created an art piece to include in the competition. We used remaining plastic lids in the classroom to create our own monsters and create a story for the monsters. We have also helped beautify our school for our Veterans Day program. The items are used each day in a variety of ways. The laminating pouches have been a wonderful addition as well. I have a larger class size of 24 students. While the number or spots is 20, plus some flexible seating it has made each student have a spot while we work in a whole group setting. It allows each student to feel included and be more comfortable during valuable learning time. \r\nThe rug was delivered on a day where 1st grade has a late afternoon specials time. It allowed me to set up the new rug while the students were away and surprise them! They knew it was in the mail, but getting to see how excited they were to see it was so much fun.
