Two areas my students are struggling in is reading comprehension and writing. I know that reading is key to all areas of learning so it is very important to me to make sure that my students are reading to their full potential. I also have a lot of English Learners in my class and it is difficult at times modifying lessons and finding books and tools to assist them with reading and writing lessons. I want to build a level of confidence and enjoyment in all my students when it comes to reading and writing. I'm requesting the following as learning tools to help me improve my students reading and writing skills: a set of paired fiction and nonfiction classic books, earphones for reading and listening station, composition books, writing instructional guides and supplies for reading and writing. In my classroom, we practice reading comprehension, listening, speaking and writing daily using cooperative learning strategies. The addition of these resources and supplies would give my students a much needed boost of practice in the areas of reading comprehension listening, speaking and writing daily. Students who are confident in their reading and writing which includes listening and speaking abilities will be ready to face the challenges of higher education which will in turn prepare them for future careers.
