Your generosity has given our students an exciting opportunity to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math in a way that feels more like play than a traditional lesson. Because of your support, our students were able to discover that STEM is all around them—even on a mini golf course!\r\n\r\nBefore this project, many of our students would never have thought that golf and STEM could go together. Once they began exploring the mini golf activities, they quickly discovered that every shot was an opportunity to experiment, problem-solve, make predictions, and learn. What looked like a fun game became a hands-on STEM experience that kept them engaged, curious, and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nOur students learned how to properly hold and use a golf club while exploring how much force was needed to move the ball the correct distance. They experimented with different amounts of force and observed how the ball responded. They learned that hitting the ball too softly might leave it short of the hole, while too much force could send it past the target. Through these experiences, students were able to see the connection between cause and effect in a very concrete way.\r\n\r\nDistance and measurement also became an important part of the experience. Students measured the distance between the tee and the hole and used those measurements to help determine how they should approach each shot. They began thinking about angles, direction, and how the path of the ball could affect the outcome. Rather than simply being given the answers, students were encouraged to try, observe, adjust, and try again.\r\n\r\nPerhaps one of the most exciting discoveries was learning about gravity. Students could see how gravity influenced the movement of the ball, especially when the course included changes in elevation. Concepts that can sometimes be difficult to understand in a classroom became much easier to grasp when students could actually see them happening right in front of them.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this project gave our students access to an experience that many of them would otherwise never have had. They were able to participate in an activity that encouraged teamwork, perseverance, critical thinking, and problem-solving while having fun. We saw students cheering one another on, celebrating successful shots, and encouraging their classmates to keep trying when something did not work the first time.\r\n\r\nYour donation did much more than provide materials for a mini golf activity. You provided an opportunity for our students to learn, explore, experiment, and experience success in a new way. You helped us show them that learning can happen anywhere and that STEM can be found in the activities they enjoy every day.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping us create meaningful learning experiences. These resources helped me create a more engaging learning environment where students could connect movement, wellness, and nutrition.\r\n\r\nI used the iPad to design age-appropriate workout sheets, movement activities, and colorful signs for our Field Day stations. Because of your kindness, my students were able to participate in an engaging and meaningful literacy experience that combined reading, research, creativity, and hands-on learning.\r\nDuring our Project-Based Learning (PBL) unit on animals, students spent time reading informational texts, researching different animals, and learning about their habitats, needs, and behaviors. The materials you provided, especially the clay, brought their learning to life in an exciting way. Students used the clay to create imaginative classroom zoos and pet stores inspired by the animals they studied. They were incredibly excited to design, build, and share their creations with classmates and families.\r\nThis hands-on activity allowed students to strengthen both their literacy and critical thinking skills while expressing their creativity. Many students who are typically hesitant readers became more engaged because they were able to connect their research to a fun, interactive project. The classroom was filled with excitement, collaboration, and pride as students explained facts about their animals and showcased their work.\r\nYour generosity also helped provide literacy bags filled with pencils, crayons, and books for families to enjoy together at home. These take-home resources encouraged students and parents to continue reading beyond the classroom and helped strengthen the important connection between school and home learning.\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their education.
