"It isn't what the book costs. It's what it will cost you if you don't read it." (Jim Rohn) With your act of kindness of donating to our project, we will be able to set up a proper Guided Reading Station. My partner and I will be able to get books in the little hands of our eager learners. We will set up a Guided Reading table by the window that will have the sets displayed. We will also use the soft chairs to create a cozy corner for children to be comfortable and get lost in books. For those students that are not at the Guided Reading Table, the headphones will be used at computer stations and iPad stations in order to hear rich language being read aloud.
In order to instill a love of reading in young children, they must have real, colorful, vibrant and relative books IN their hands. Without this project, unfortunately our students will continue to have black and white paper books printed, cut and stapled together that we teachers spend precious time creating. We know how excited our scholars will be when they see and feel and turn the pages of these new books in Guided Reading!
