I have a class of 18 students that come from a low income neighborhood, our school slogan is “We Matter Yes We Do.” Our students are learning form home and they need all the visual imagery possible to help them achieve their goal. Using cut outs will help them see the examples, shapes, numbers, and letters we use during our school day to teach Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies. For example, part of the common core standards for math is teaching how to identify if objects are the same or different. A lesson I would use the cut outs for would be to physically show students images and pictures of objects that are the same and different. This is allow students to match objects that are the same and discuss why objects are the same or different. This is just one of the endless teaching and learning possibilities that would be possible with the Cricut. We understand the struggle and frustration parents are experiencing due to digital learning. This is why we want to be able to provide the most engaging video and digital learning lessons possible to benefit our students. Young learners, especially English Language Learners learn best from being exposed to visual cues and imagery. Due to our limited resources at our school we don’t have the ability to make the appropriate materials we need to teach. We would appreciate and be extremely grateful to be able to provide our students with the visual materials they need to succeed during Digital learning this year!
