Their faces lit up as they explored the shelves and noticed how the books were sorted just for them. One of my favorite moments was during independent reading time when students confidently walked to the shelves, selected their own books, and settled in to read without needing help. This independence has been incredibly empowering for them and has already increased both their reading stamina and enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nWe are using these new resources every day during independent reading, small-group instruction, and literacy centers. Students now take responsibility for choosing, caring for, and returning books to the correct spots.
