My students love learning but they are full of wiggles which makes it hard to focus! I have requested seat cushions, fidget items, and desk bands that will help improve their focus across academic settings. I have used these items before in the occupational therapy room and have seen first-hand success with using them but we do not have enough to support all of our students. The seat cushion allows kids to be wiggly in their chairs without creating a distraction to everyone else in the room. The fidget items allow the students the ability to maintain focus in the classroom and also strengthen their fine motor skills. The bands for the chairs give sensory feedback to students which in turn allows them to maintain focus.
