Every day, they walk into our classroom with big smiles, curious minds, and hearts full of creativity. Thanks to your generosity, those smiles have grown even bigger as they explore our new classroom supplies.\r\n\r\nThe moment my students saw the construction paper, crayons, glue sticks, and markers, their faces lit up. Some gasped, some cheered, and a few immediately started imagining what they could create. One of my favorite moments happened during a science lesson on weather—students used the new supplies to design colorful weather wheels, carefully choosing colors and decorating each section to show sunny, cloudy, rainy, and snowy days. Their excitement and focus made the lesson come alive in such a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWe've also used the materials in math to build shape creatures and in writing to design kindness posters for our hallway. These simple tools have opened the door for big thinking, hands-on exploration, and joyful creativity.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include beginning a student-led research project, where students will use these materials to create mini–poster boards showcasing facts about animals, habitats, or community helpers. Because of you, they'll be able to share their learning in a bright, visual, and engaging way.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us color our world with creativity and joy. Recently, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders jumped into a project using Lakeshore Learning build blocks for our car ramp challenge. This project not only sparks creativity but also helps them grasp the basics of physics and engineering as they design their own ramps and vehicles.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first laid eyes on the Lakeshore build blocks, you could feel the excitement in the air. They were eager to get started! The bright colors and different shapes got them thinking outside the box and working together. As they built their ramps, they picked up valuable lessons about teamwork and communication—skills that are super important when collaborating.\r\n\r\nAlongside the car ramp challenge, we've also been using easy electricity circuits to explore conductors and insulators. This hands-on experience lets students dive into the flow of electricity while playing around with different materials. They loved connecting wires and testing various items to see which ones let electricity pass through. The joy of seeing their circuits light up brought big smiles and cheers all around the classroom!\r\n\r\nThanks to our generous donors, we've been able to share this enthusiasm. Their support means we can keep providing hands-on learning experiences that truly engage our students. Coming up next, we have an exciting project where we'll build wind-powered robots. This will help us learn more about alternative energies and improve our building and collaboration skills.\r\n\r\nAs we take on this journey, our students are focused on being great partners, practicing emotional regulation, and boosting their confidence. They're learning to support each other, which is key as they face challenges in their projects. These new materials have not only sparked their interest in STEM but have also built a sense of community and encouragement among them.","fullyFundedDate":1747844026860,"projectUrl":"project/new-stem-program-for-600-elementary-stud/9148316/","projectTitle":"New STEM Program for 600 Elementary Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Davis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8568687_orig.jpg?crop=315,315,x0,y38&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742512005214","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8568687"},{"teacherId":8665019,"projectId":9101846,"letterContent":"Thanks to your support, our students now have access to flexible seating that meets their unique needs.
