Because of your kindness, my 4th grade students have had access to materials that have truly brought learning to life in meaningful and creative ways.\r\n\r\nWe have already used many of the resources across multiple subjects. One of our most special projects was for Mother's Day, when students decorated terracotta pots using Posca markers and planted flowers to take home. This project combined art, care for others, and responsibility, and it was so meaningful to watch students create something heartfelt for their families. In science, students used the electric circuit kits to build and explore how energy flows, making abstract concepts tangible and exciting. For social studies and multicultural learning, students created ecosystem dioramas using air-dry clay and mailer boxes, as well as \"casitas\" inspired by Colombia using gingerbread house kits for our multicultural night. These hands-on projects helped students connect deeply to both content and culture.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement in the classroom was immediate and unforgettable. Students' eyes lit up as they explored the Posca markers, carefully opened the circuit kits, and imagined what they could create with the clay and boxes. Many students who are usually quiet or hesitant were eager to participate, ask questions, and share ideas. It created a sense of pride and ownership in their learning that is hard to replicate without these kinds of resources.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue integrating these materials into our learning. Students will build on their science understanding by designing their own simple inventions using the circuit kits. In math, we will use the liquid measurement tools for hands-on problem solving, helping students strengthen their understanding of volume and real-world applications. Artistically, students will continue creating projects that reflect both their identities and the diverse cultures we study, especially as we prepare for future school events.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only provided supplies—it has created opportunities for creativity, confidence, and deeper learning. Thank you for investing in my students and for making our classroom a place where hands-on, joyful learning can happen every day.","fullyFundedDate":1768833452679,"projectUrl":"project/stem-creativity/9989773/","projectTitle":"STEM + Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Oates","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7522819_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1599627918550","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7522819"},{"teacherId":5611983,"projectId":9992784,"letterContent":"These opportunities have increased student engagement, encouraged curiosity, and helped foster a love of learning as students explore, experiment, and bring their ideas to life in meaningful and exciting ways.\r\n\r\nThrough building challenges, engineering activities, coding tools, and creative design stations, students are developing critical thinking, perseverance, and teamwork skills.\r\n\r\nStudents are no longer just consumers of information — they are creators, inventors, and collaborators.\r\n\r\nThank you for your donations.","fullyFundedDate":1770225024278,"projectUrl":"project/library-stem-makers-space-and-repair-r/9992784/","projectTitle":"Library STEM, Makers Space, and Repair Restock","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fischer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5611983_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y600&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768235449659","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jessiebecklibrary"},{"teacherId":6337738,"projectId":6036403,"letterContent":"I have been using the materials for this sing and play project since receiving them several years ago. Because the drone can autonomously track movement, students are able to film themselves in action—whether they are creating art, conducting science experiments outdoors, practicing athletic routines, or documenting their work from unique angles that would be impossible with a handheld camera. This hands‑free capability allows them to stay fully engaged in their project while still capturing high‑quality footage that they can later analyze, edit, and present.\r\nIn our community‑based photojournalism work, the drone has become an especially powerful tool. Students use it to capture aerial perspectives of local landmarks, community events, and natural spaces that shape our city's story. They've taken great pride in learning how responsible drone use can enhance storytelling—using the bird's‑eye view to show patterns, movement, and connections that aren't visible from the ground. The resulting images and videos have helped students better understand how perspective influences narrative, and they've become more thoughtful, intentional storytellers because of it.\r\nSome students who are typically hesitant to speak up or participate have completely come alive through this technology. A few have taken the lead in planning drone shots, coordinating fieldwork, and editing the footage into compelling short features. Others who struggle in more traditional academic tasks have found confidence in the technical and creative aspects of drone-based storytelling. Watching them step into leadership roles, collaborate with peers, and proudly share their cinematic work has been one of the most exciting parts of introducing this new tool.","fullyFundedDate":1768408221451,"projectUrl":"project/the-best-kind-of-droning-on/9989174/","projectTitle":"The Best Kind of Droning on...","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Oates","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8262323"},{"teacherId":5318435,"projectId":10000210,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for all that was given to my kindergarten class.
