These games help our students build foundational skills in Reading which is our Nevada Content Standard RF.4.3 Phonics and Word Recognition (4th grade Standard. We are one of two Dual Immersion Schools in the Washoe County School District working toward the ultimate goal of developing Bilingual and bi-literate students at MRS. These materials will help us achieve this goal. Learning to play games in Spanish increases the fluency of our students. The air purifiers will give me a clean environment to do this in. We have had many exclusions due to COVID, and I have had COVID myself. As a teacher from Spain myself, this is one of the most important skills we can teach them. Developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish will help our students in the future with 21st-century skills. We would love for you to come to visit our classrooms at Mount Rose!
