"Can I stand?" "Can I sit on the floor?" "I really wish I could work somewhere different." These are all statements that I have heard form my students in the past as they sit in traditional table/desk and hard chair seats. Many students perform better when given choice of seating arrangements and are more motivated to perform to their fullest. By allowing my students flexible seating options, they have control over their preferred seating which will lead to greater student success. The use of wobble chairs, soft seats and balance balls provides a greater variety to meet the modality of different learning styles as compared to only having district provided hard seats. My students would not only be excited, but would benefit greatly from the variety these seating options would provide.
