Our grow lamp is collecting dust in the corner because we need all these consumables to bring our plants to life. Normally, the plant cycle takes months to go over, but not with Wisconsin Fast Plants and a hydroponics system. Students will experience the plant life cycle in just a couple of weeks. Our goals will include the Life Science standards, process grids for data collection, and learning to connect our indoor garden to our school garden. However, the big idea is how can the students apply their learning. I hope to plant the seed of creating a garden in their kitchen or in their yard. Plus as a bonus, there will be a buzz in the air when students cross-pollinate with dried bees and explaining fish poop as a fertilizer with the nitrate cycle will not be a dull moment! Can you hear the laughter? And this is why I teach. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
