I am excited to use flexible seating in my classroom. It will give students more ownership over their learning and their place in the classroom. Students already choose to sit on the floor with a clipboard or stand at the writing table to work. When students are comfortable in the environment more learning is able to take place. Some students need to move more than others and flexible seating gives these students the ability to wobble, rock, bounce or stand. Flexible seating will allow students to choose what works best for them as learners. I want to provide lots of choices of types of seats and places to sit in the classroom.
