Because of your kindness, my students now have access to high-quality **sticky easel pads** and **dry erase markers**, which allow us to turn any wall into a collaborative brainstorming space. The **construction paper**, **crayons**, and **glue sticks** you provided aren't just \"art supplies\"—they are the mediums through which my students visualize complex concepts, build interactive notebooks, and express their individual creativity.\r\n\r\nThe impact of having a steady supply of **copy paper**, **pencils**, **index cards**, and **scotch tape** cannot be overstated. These items are often the first to run out, yet they are vital for everything from daily assessments to organizing student portfolios. By ensuring we are fully stocked with these essentials, you have removed a significant barrier to learning. My students no longer have to worry about whether they have the right tools to complete an assignment; instead, they can focus entirely on the academic challenges at hand.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, specialized items like the **magnetic strips** have allowed me to highlight vocabulary words and keep them at the forefront of learning. It is heartening to know that organizations like Donors Choose and its community of supporters recognize that even \"basic\" supplies are powerful catalysts for student success.\r\n\r\nThis donation is particularly meaningful as it was championed by the **Nevada Department of Education**. Knowing that our state leadership and the broader community are invested in the success of Nevada's educators and students provides a wonderful boost to our classroom morale. It serves as a constant reminder to my students that there is a vast network of people who believe in their potential and are willing to invest in their future.\r\n\r\nThank you for your tireless work in supporting public school teachers across the country. You are doing much more than just providing paper and pencils; you are providing the equity and resources necessary for every child to thrive. I am so incredibly grateful for your partnership and your commitment to education.","fullyFundedDate":1768280295832,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-through-essentials/10010523/","projectTitle":"Empowering Through Essentials!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chapin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5782978_orig.jpg?crop=1259,1259,x0,y12&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1775765546763","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5782978"},{"teacherId":5298533,"projectId":9992600,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donations. This is the best introductory project to the world of three-dimensional art, as it is the least fragile and most forgiving. Students then experienced carving foam blocks as a subtractive art form. Your donations have truly been a game changer for my students, especially when it comes to improving behavior, engagement, and motivation.\r\n\r\nHaving proper tools like pencils, coloring pencils, and markers is an important part of the learning experience. Having tools to complete assignments made them feel successful. Having new tools made them feel like they matter.\r\n\r\nAnother game changer is are the incentives. We have been using the incentives you provided in a variety of meaningful ways. Students are earning rewards for completing their iReady lessons, which has significantly increased both participation and consistency. Additionally, incentives are used for completing doodle notes in science and finishing projects in social studies. These small but powerful motivators have helped students stay focused, take pride in their work, and build positive habits.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful moments this year was during our \"My Year in Review\" project. Students created personal reflections where they set goals and visualized who they want to become by the end of this school year and even two years from now. They were incredibly excited and proud to share their work. We laminated and displayed their projects, and it has been inspiring to see students revisit their goals and stay motivated.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They felt valued and supported, and it created a renewed sense of energy in the classroom. It has truly shifted our environment into one where students are more engaged and eager to succeed.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue to use these resources to reinforce positive behaviors, encourage academic growth, and support goal-setting. Students are already beginning to take more ownership of their learning, and I am excited to see how they continue to grow.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making such a meaningful impact in our classroom. There is a unique magic that happens when a student flips a heavy, metallic knife switch and sees LEDs react through code students wrote for an Arduino board. This equipment has transformed abstract concepts of \"high and low\" signals into a tangible, hands-on reality for my students.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for the students has been the tactile nature of the project. In a world of touchscreens, using physical switches to control digital outputs feels like \"real engineering\" to them. I've watched several students, who previously struggled with the logic of binary code, suddenly \"click\" with the material once they could physically manipulate the circuit into on and off modes.","fullyFundedDate":1768359882765,"projectUrl":"project/what-makes-something-digital-workstatio/10004555/","projectTitle":"What Makes Something Digital? Both myself and the students so appreciated the addition of colored pencils, colored paper, markers, and even tape dispensers and staples for our classroom. The students expressed sincere joy at seeing the rainbow of colors available to them to express themselves!\r\n\r\nMy students use the colored pencils to label diagrams, illustrate processes, and present data in creative ways. They use the colored paper to build models and presentations. And even the basics of supplies like tape and staples allows them to work effectively and creatively. Connecting the two sides of their brains, the logical and the artistic, through the crafting of foldables and art projects truly creates lasting understanding!\r\n\r\nCurrently my 7th grade science students are using all of these supplies as they learn about earthquakes by building models of faults and also in learning about volcanoes by creating artistic diagrams. My 6th graders are using the project supplies to create a model of a flower, diagramming the parts so that they understood how all of the parts work together in reproduction. \r\n\r\nBecause of your support our classroom is now able to create these projects, enhancing learning, without the barrier of a lack of supplies that can sometimes inhibit true learning. Although I received a lot of products, I will highlight a few.\r\n First, the \"buzzers\" for my educational games (mainly for test prep) the students THRIVE on competition. So when we play a \"Family Feud\" like game, the buzzers I ordered are fabulous because of their quality and the fact that they light up! This helps me identify the one that pressed the buzzer first, thus eliminating quarelling. In fact, I used it today. \r\n The card stock paper is fabulous for when the students pair up to identify irony in passages. I love that they have different colors because I make students pair up with students who have the same passage card color. This gives the students an opportunity to work with someone outside of their assigned pod. \r\n The essentials that I received (Lysol, paper towels, etc.,.) is especially important seeing that there are all kinds of contageous sicknesses going around. I had four absences last week, so this will help me battle this.\r\n The students also enjoyed the Monopoly and chess games. I have an Enrichment class (once a week) for students who have good grades and no missing assignments. So the students in that class are allowed to play educational games or social-building games. So, these came in handy.\r\n\r\nTHANK YOU so much for all of these items!
