Your gift will have an immediate and meaningful impact on our students. Access to a wide range of engaging, high-quality literature not only strengthens reading skills, but also fosters curiosity, empathy, and critical thinking. Many of our students discover new interests, perspectives, and even career aspirations through the books they encounter, and your contribution helps make those discoveries possible.\r\n\r\nReading plays a vital role in helping students grow as thinkers and as people. The books you provided will support classroom discussions, independent reading, and the development of lifelong literacy habits. They will give students opportunities to see themselves reflected in stories and to better understand experiences different from their own. Your generosity is an investment in their academic success and personal growth, and we are deeply grateful for your support of our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1768174374710,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-stories-classroom-library/10000660/","projectTitle":"Exploring Stories: Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ohren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4928279_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1535063481471","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ohren"},{"teacherId":6465077,"projectId":9997447,"letterContent":"I am deeply thankful for contributing to the students in my classroom. When the packages arrived, the students were excited because the vast array of supplies meant they could participate in projects to bring science to life.\r\n\r\nThe first project they participated in was to build paper rollercoasters to explore the physics concepts we were studying at the time. Constructing roller coasters really helped them see the relationship between potential and kinetic energy, and they were also able to complete motion tests on their finished project. This particular project was possible because of your generous donation.\r\n\r\nOne of the science concepts I teach is magnetism. Your donation allowed me to purchase new magnets so that my students can explore this concept and experience the practical application rather than just the theoretical concept. Hands-on learning is much more engaging for my students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your donation. I truly appreciate it.","fullyFundedDate":1768181408094,"projectUrl":"project/bring-science-to-life/9997447/","projectTitle":"Bring Science to Life!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rosengren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6465077_orig.jpg?crop=180,180,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767998978054","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6465077"},{"teacherId":1765184,"projectId":10008997,"letterContent":"In today's tech heavy world, students definitely need to go back to basic, hands-on activities. Although I received a lot of products, I will highlight a few.\r\n First, the \"buzzers\" for my educational games (mainly for test prep) the students THRIVE on competition. So when we play a \"Family Feud\" like game, the buzzers I ordered are fabulous because of their quality and the fact that they light up! This helps me identify the one that pressed the buzzer first, thus eliminating quarelling. In fact, I used it today. \r\n The card stock paper is fabulous for when the students pair up to identify irony in passages. I love that they have different colors because I make students pair up with students who have the same passage card color. This gives the students an opportunity to work with someone outside of their assigned pod. \r\n The essentials that I received (Lysol, paper towels, etc.,.) is especially important seeing that there are all kinds of contageous sicknesses going around. I had four absences last week, so this will help me battle this.\r\n The students also enjoyed the Monopoly and chess games. I have an Enrichment class (once a week) for students who have good grades and no missing assignments. So the students in that class are allowed to play educational games or social-building games. So, these came in handy.\r\n\r\nTHANK YOU so much for all of these items! The children thank you as well.","fullyFundedDate":1768232605035,"projectUrl":"project/digital-burnout-meets-tactile-learning/10008997/","projectTitle":"Digital Burnout Meets Tactile Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mendoza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1765184_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1540576361391","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rosa-mendoza"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_109082","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":28,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":76.2,"schoolId":109082,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Somerset Academy Sky Pointe - Middle/High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Somerset Academy Sky Pointe - Middle/High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/nevada-department-of-education/somerset-academy-sky-pointe-middle-high-school/109082"}
