Students in my Physics classes are working hard at learning new concepts and understanding the world around them. They are learning that Physics is involved in so much of their lives to the point they now comment "Physics is Life". It is so exciting to see students look at their own lives in such a different way; they examine how they kick a ball in soccer, how a car can turn a corner without drifting, and even how a touchscreen works.
I want them to be filled with wonder when they look at the world.
In order to do that I want one aspect of the learning of Physics to be easier, and that's the math calculations part. By having the same calculator for every student I can teach them how to use the calculators effectively and efficiently so they can solve a problem and move on to really understanding new concepts.
Your contribution will provide my class with a class set of calculators along with a wall holder to keep track of them for use in each class. By being able to concentrate on the concepts instead of struggling with calculations my students will bring wonder back into the science classroom.
