My students with special needs were overjoyed and energized when the supplies arrived—many of them clapped, smiled, and immediately wanted to explore what we had been given. For them, having new health education tools was not just about learning—it was about feeling valued, included, and capable.\r\n\r\nWith the new materials, my students have been able to engage more actively in lessons about health, nutrition, movement, and personal well-being. These lessons are especially important because they give students knowledge and skills that build independence, confidence, and lifelong healthy habits. The supplies have created more hands-on opportunities for learning, making abstract health concepts real and accessible to students of all ability levels.\r\n\r\nThe excitement they felt has carried over into their daily participation. Students are more motivated to take part in class discussions, practice healthy routines, and share what they have learned with peers and family members. The impact extends beyond academics—it has strengthened their sense of belonging, joy in learning, and overall well-being.\r\n\r\nThanks to this support, my students feel more capable in their own bodies and more confident about making healthy choices.","fullyFundedDate":1746787175013,"projectUrl":"project/project-well-and-able-body/9099820/","projectTitle":"Project Well and Able Body","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sonja Simpkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8300697_orig.jpg?crop=2448,2448,x0,y693&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1738769251426","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8300697"},{"teacherId":8143810,"projectId":9114676,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations to our show. The snacks that were provided allowed my students to focus on the show without having to worry about being hungry.\r\n\r\nThis has been a challenging year for us due to construction work on our theatre and as a result we had to perform in the cafeteria. The students had to work extra hard every day to set up and strike the show so that the cafeteria could still be used during the day. This, along with the rehearsals, made them very hungry and with your donations we were able to keep going up to and including the performances.\r\n\r\nMy students loved getting the treats and as kids will do, they were eager to get into the boxes, but we told them to take their time so as to save things for the nights of the show as well.
