One student arrived late, visibly overwhelmed after a chaotic morning. Normally, a start like that causes a student to shut down. Instead, knowing our room has these dedicated resources, the student quietly visited our snack station, enjoyed a treat, and took a moment to reset. It didn't take long before they were comparing plant growth, discussing what they were observing, and even coming in during lunch just to check on their crops.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this project has been much bigger than I ever imagined. What started as an after-school club became so popular that next year it is officially becoming a full agriculture class. They then used Post-it notes to annotate their thinking, ask questions, and make connections directly on the text or on our large Post-it posters during group discussions. This has transformed what used to be a quieter, more individual task into a highly interactive and collaborative experience.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited—especially about having their own supplies to use consistently. It may seem simple, but having access to fresh Expo markers, pencils, and sticky notes made them feel more prepared and invested in their work. The large Post-it posters have been a favorite for group work; students enjoy getting up, sharing ideas, and visually organizing their thinking together.
