We've been using the new resources daily as part of our reading and writing activities, and they have completely transformed how students approach their work. One standout moment occurred during a recent project where students analyzed texts and then created their own interpretations—using these materials allowed them to collaborate more effectively, stay organized, and fully invest in the process. I saw students who are usually hesitant to participate step up with confidence, sharing ideas and taking pride in their work.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate and genuine. They were eager to explore everything and kept asking when they could start using them. That sense of enthusiasm carried directly into our lessons—students were more focused, motivated, and willing to take risks in their learning. It was clear that having access to quality resources made them feel valued and supported, which positively impacted both their engagement and their overall classroom experience.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue to build on this momentum by incorporating these resources into our ongoing projects, including our current unit where students are developing their own creative and analytical pieces. These tools will help them refine their ideas, collaborate with peers, and produce work they can truly be proud of. We began by making predictions, what did they think was going to happen based on their initial reactions to the cover and the back summary. As they read, they jotted down notes or drew pictures to help them recall important plot features as well as any questions or connections they made. \r\n\r\nEvery week the students had an opportunity to collaborate with their peers and talk about their books. This has been my favorite part (and theirs) of this project so far. Watching them discuss their books with such engagement and excitement reminded why I am a teacher. They are loving learning!\r\n\r\nTheir final unit project currently in progress is for them to create three 3 social media posts from the perspective of their favorite character. They love integrating technology and relevant activities into their learning! They are also writing a review of their book which will be posted in the library. Because of your kindness, my students now have access to meaningful, hands-on materials that support their growth in our vocational autism program. The puzzles, matching vocabulary cards, and money flash cards have been incredibly helpful in building foundational skills such as problem-solving, communication, and real-life math. One of the most impactful items has been the silverware set, which includes utensils and roll-up cloths. We have been using this for a group role-play activity where students practice setting up utensils as they would in a workplace setting, helping them build job-related and daily living skills.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were excited and eager to explore. Many of them learn best through hands-on activities, so being able to touch, sort, match, and practice in a real-world way made a huge difference in their engagement. It was truly a special moment to see their confidence grow as they successfully completed tasks and participated in activities that felt meaningful and relevant to their lives.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue to use these materials to expand our vocational training and independence skills. When I moved to Clark County four years ago, I started teaching in a portable classroom with only the basic furniture the school could provide. Thanks to donors like you, that space has slowly transformed into a classroom that feels welcoming, comfortable, and student-centered.\r\n\r\nYour donation allowed me to replace the standard metal bookcases with furniture that adds warmth and functionality to the room. We use this space every day. Students gravitate toward the bench during independent reading, small group discussions, and project work. It has become a flexible seating option that gives students ownership over how they learn. One of my students was so inspired by the new space that he created a pillow featuring the Philippine flag as part of a fashion project so it could be displayed on the bench. Moments like that show students feel pride and connection to our classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new setup, their reaction was immediate. They commented on how different the room felt — more like a community space than just a classroom. Several students asked if they could sit there during work time before I even formally introduced it. That excitement reinforced how much environment impacts engagement.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, this space will continue to support collaborative projects, reading time, and student-driven activities. My current classes are working on inquiry-based projects, and having a comfortable, flexible area allows students to brainstorm, discuss, and create in ways that traditional desks don't always allow. These aren't just office upgrades; they are essential tools that have fundamentally changed how I support my students.\r\n\r\nThe transition to the iPad Pro has been a game-changer for my daily work with students. In the fast-paced environment of a high school, being able to move from a classroom to a private session without carrying stacks of files is invaluable.\r\n\r\nEfficiency: With the Apple Pencil, I can take handwritten digital notes during sessions, allowing me to stay organized while maintaining a personal connection with the student.\r\n\r\nMobility: The protective case ensures that this technology remains safe as I navigate the halls and attend various student meetings.\r\n\r\nHow This Technology Supports Learning\r\nWhile many use iPads for entertainment, in a school counseling setting, this technology is a bridge to academic success.\r\n\r\nExecutive Functioning: I use the iPad to help students visually map out their graduation requirements and college applications. Being able to sketch out a \"four-year plan\" in real-time helps students who struggle with abstract planning to see a concrete path forward.\r\n\r\nWhat Excites the Students Most\r\nThe students are most excited by the interactive nature of the new setup.
