Behind every favorite song, there is an untold story. Students in my classes are dedicated, despite daily challenges that many of them face. They continue to show up and try hard. To see these students become musicians, is very rewarding. These young adults inspire me each and every day. My students come from all walks of life and many of them from low-income/financially challenged households. Our school is considered to be a Title 1 school. This means that paying for additional things such as required music class fees, or supplies can be extremely difficult for many families that struggle to make ends meet. I am so very thankful to organizations such as Donors Choose and the many amazing donors that have donated in support of my classroom and to my amazing students. Each and every one of my students have benefited in such a profound way.
